Note: This post was drafted on 4/5/2021 but finalized and posted today.
Here’s the things I want to get accomplished this week.
First, I need to contact Atlas Obscura about getting on their site. This has been far more problematic than I had anticipated. Details will be in a future post.
Second, I want to start a website dedicated to weird Austin stuff. The idea is to have the best catalog for weird stuff in Austin. Not just AO type stuff, but stretching into events, tours and other things. Of course the Eureka Room will be featured very prominently. (Update: the Austin Weird List and the Austin Unique List have been created.)
Third, I want to finish up all 8 of the moment matrices. I have 4 rough drafted, but the key to saving time is to make sure I’ve thought through what tests I want to build before I start building them. Instead of keeping it an explanation of what I will do, I need to detail it out so that I can feel confident I won’t get into the weeds. I’m sure some of the tests will change once I pick up the tools (due to limitations or strengths of the tools), but designing the house as you build it is not a good use of valuable resources.
I really want to have solidly detailed tests by the end of this week.
The next two weeks 12-25 will be dedicated to creating the tests in FCPX. I’ll be at my parents’ house next week, so likely most of the work will be done April 17-24.
I’ll be scheduling test sessions for the end of the month, the 26th and onward.
That will give me May to make beta-level versions of any new programs that look promising.
(Update: the week at my parents was enjoyable but not productive for the Eureka Room. The schedule was pushed out a week after I wrote this).
