I am currently spending most of my time on The Eureka Room. My current activities on that are:
- Finding a suitable location in anticipation of a summer opening.
- Developing more programs
- Construction preparation
- Attracting fans and supporters.
Ideally I’m looking for a sublease in east or north Austin. I need a space around 12×24 that is 10 feet high for the room. Ideally there would be a lobby. Since this is just a test-the-waters location it doesn’t have to be perfect and can be a little rough around the edges. I’ll need HVAC and a restroom and parking.
If you have a space you’d like to sublease to me or know someone that does, email me at email@example.com
Developing More Programs
I am creating more programs to test and show in the new space.
The plan is to keep the existing room in my house and create a new second room for the new location. If the new space allows I might lengthen the room four feet and widen the room a few inches. I think this would provide a more enveloping and comfortable experience for visitors.
The construction has two parts: the electronics and the free-standing structure the electronics are attached to. I’ll need different people to do do each of these.
Attracting the Tribe
Although I’ve had over 1200 people visit, it’s been pretty under the radar. I need to make a plan to connect with the people who are going to love what I’m doing.
